Welcome to OCASA.org! By accessing our website, courses, and services, you agree to follow our Terms of Use ("Terms"). These Terms outline your rights and responsibilities while using OCASA’s educational content, technology, and services. Please read them carefully before engaging with any of our offerings.

By using the Services (defined below), you confirm that you are of legal age to accept these Terms or that you have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian if you are underage.

Some features may include additional terms, which are considered part of these Terms and are equally binding.

 

Terms-1

1. Definitions

  • OCASA (“we”, “us”) refers to the OCASA school network and any of its affiliated institutions.
  • Services refers to OCASA’s websites (such as www.ocasa.org), mobile apps, software, educational platforms, and any AI-powered learning tools.
  • Sites means all OCASA-managed domains and subdomains.
  • User Content includes all text, images, videos, audio, data, and materials submitted or created through use of our Services.

2. Our Services

OCASA provides academic courses, lesson materials, student platforms, parent-teacher communication tools, and digital classrooms. Services may also include AI-based learning tools that enable the generation of educational content based on user input ("prompts" and resulting "creations"). These Creations are for educational purposes and may not be unique or always accurate.

3. Account Creation and Responsibilities

To access certain Services, you must create an OCASA account. You must provide accurate and updated information, be of legal age, or have parental/guardian supervision. Parents or guardians adding student information must certify their authority to do so. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password.

4. Proper Use of OCASA Services

You may use OCASA’s Services for personal, non-commercial, educational purposes only. You may not:

  • Modify, republish, or share our content outside the intended platform.
  • Record, broadcast, or redistribute content.
  • Sell or license any part of the Services.
  • Use our content to create competing educational tools or services.
  • All content belongs to OCASA or its licensed partners and is protected under intellectual property laws.

5. Changes to Services

We may modify or discontinue services at any time. We are not liable for any interruptions or feature changes.

6. User Content

For general users (e.g., students, parents, and external contributors), you retain ownership of the content you create but grant OCASA a license to use it to improve our Services. We may use user submissions, including feedback, to enhance educational delivery.

For employees of OCASA, any content, materials, or work product created in the course of employment is the sole property of OCASA.

You agree not to share any harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content. OCASA may remove or restrict access to content that violates these Terms or school policies.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

Prohibited actions include but are not limited to:
  • Tampering with systems or breaching security including using tools to circumvent OCASA’s firewalls or access controls (e.g. VPNs.)
  • Using Services to bully, harm, harass, or defame others.
  • Violating copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property laws.
  • Using Services to promote violence, hate, or illegal activity.

9.Accessibility

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless OCASA, its affiliates, staff, and educators from any claims or liabilities arising from your use of the Services or your content.

11. Limitations of Liability

OCASA is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of our Services.

12. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion for violations of these Terms. Termination does not release you from obligations under these Terms.

13. Copyright Concerns

If you believe your intellectual property is being used inappropriately, contact us at admissions@ocasa.org with relevant details.

14. Third-Party Links

Some content may link to external sites. OCASA is not responsible for third-party content, policies, or actions.

15. Interactions with Others

You are responsible for your interactions with other users. OCASA is not responsible for disputes unless they involve school-level issues.

16. Additional Legal Terms

  • California Notice: OCASA operates under the address listed on www.ocasa.org/en-us/contact.
  • Electronic Communications: By using OCASA Services, you consent to receive electronic communications from us.
  • Modifications: We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes agreement to the revised Terms.
