Manage Your Health

OCASA provides a range of benefits and wellness resources that help you put your health first.

  • Medical Benefits

OCASA offers medical benefits through Kaiser Permanente HMO, Anthem HMO, and Anthem PPO for you and your dependents.

  • Dental Benefits

You and your eligible dependents will have the opportunity to enroll in a Dental HMO plan offered by Anthem or a Dental Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan offered by Anthem.

  • Vision Benefits

Vision coverage is offered by Anthem as a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan. As with a traditional PPO, you may take advantage of the highest level of benefit by receiving services from in-network vision providers and doctors.

  • Medical Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

Your Medical FSA can reimburse for eligible health care expenses not covered by medical, dental, and vision insurance. Dependent Care FSA is also available to pay for eligible expenses for your dependents.

  • Critical Illness Coverage

Critical Illness coverage offered on a voluntary basis through Colonial Life pays you a lump sum benefit if you are diagnosed with a covered illness or condition. All benefits are paid directly to you, and you may use the funds as you see fit.

  • Hospital Protection

Voluntary Hospital Insurance from Colonial Life pays out cash to you or your family to offset medical and non‑medical expenses resulting from a hospital stay.

  • Accident Insurance Plan

Voluntary Accident Insurance from Colonial Life provides coverage for specific injuries and treatments resulting from a covered accident. The amount of benefit depends on the type of injury and care received.

Review OCASA's Benefits Information Guide for details on our plans.

Manage Your Wealth

Our retirement program gives you the opportunity to save and invest for your future.

  • California State Teachers Retirement System

The CalSTRS was established to provide retirement benefits to California’s public school educators from prekindergarten through community college. CalSTRS is the largest educator-only pension fund in the world and the second-largest pension fund in the U.S. All certificated staff are members of CalSTRS and are eligible to qualify for pension benefits through CalSTRS.

  • 403(b) Plan by Vanguard

A 403(b) plan can be an excellent way to help build retirement security—whether it's your only option for retirement saving or it's supplementing another retirement account. 403(b) plans have high contribution limits and diversified investment choices. You're in control. You choose where your money goes and how much you'll contribute. You'll also have options for how to withdraw your money in retirement. All OCASA employees are eligible to participate in our 403(b) plan.

  • Basic Life and AD&D

In the event of your passing, Life Insurance will provide your family members or other beneficiaries with financial protection and security. Additionally, if your death is a result of an accident or if you become dismembered, your Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage may apply. OCASA provides a basic life insurance policy for all employees at no cost. Additional coverages are available for employees and their dependents.

Live Your Best Life

OCASA Benefits support your goals both on and off campus.

  • Sick Leave

All OCASA staff accrue six paid sick leave days each year. Unused sick time rolls over to a maximum of 36 days.

  • Paid Holidays

All OCASA staff are paid for all major holidays during the school year.

  • California Induction Program

If you will be a first-year teacher, we’d love to support your journey into education. OCASA works with the competitively priced induction programs through the El Dorado County Charter SELPA, or you can complete your requirements for induction in a program of your choosing while teaching at OCASA.

  • Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

Your Dependent Care FSA can be used to pay for a child’s (up to the age of 13) child care expenses and/or care for a disabled family member in the household who is unable to care for themselves. By participating in the FSA, your taxable income is reduced, and your spendable income increases! An FSA allows you to save money while keeping you and your family healthy. Medical FSA is also available.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

OCASA understands that you and your family members might experience a variety of personal or work-related challenges. Through the EAP, you have access to resources, information, and counseling that are fully confidential and at no cost to you. EAP is available to all employees, dependents of employees, and members of your household. You may access this benefit confidentially by calling 1.888.209.7840.

  • Ticket Discount Program

TicketsatWork is the leading Corporate Entertainment Benefits provider, offering exclusive discounts, special offers, and access to preferred seating and tickets to top attractions, theme parks, shows, sporting events, movie tickets, hotels, and much more. TicketsatWork is a unique benefit offered by OCASA to all employees.
