OCASA at the Learn and Grow Fair: Inspiring Families Through Hands-On Learning

“Every new connection begins with a simple spark of curiosity.”

The Learn and Grow Fair, hosted by Parenting OC magazine, brought families together on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the District at Tustin. The event had the energy of a carnival, with music, colorful booths, and nearly 50 vendors offering programs for children, from tutoring and swimming lessons to schools and enrichment opportunities. OCASA was proud to be one of the sponsors this year, sharing a glimpse of our innovative learning methods with kids and families.

In this blog, we will share how OCASA inspired children through a hands-on STEM activity, how we connected with families in a meaningful way, and how the fair gave us the perfect opportunity to share exciting news about our upcoming campus in Tustin.

Discoveries Around Every Corner

The fair lived up to its name, giving children a chance to learn in playful ways and families to grow through new connections. Families moved from booth to booth, collecting resources and discovering programs that could support their children’s growth. At OCASA’s booth, kids were immediately drawn in by the chance to build something with their own hands.

Our activity was simple, yet full of possibility. With paper, pipettes, and straws, children assembled small rockets and then launched them into the air. The joy on their faces showed that learning does not need to feel heavy or intimidating. When curiosity takes the lead, even a small activity can turn into a powerful experience.

Introducing OCASA to the Tustin Community

The Learn and Grow Fair also allowed OCASA to plant roots in Tustin before our doors officially open in Fall 2026. Families who visited our booth were not only part of a fun activity but also part of the beginning of a relationship. They saw firsthand how a school can combine science, creativity, and curiosity in ways that feel inviting to children of all ages.

As we look forward to welcoming our first group of students at the new campus, we are excited to continue building connections like these. The fair reminded us that education is not limited to classrooms; it is built in the moments where children and families feel inspired to try something new.

A Space to Connect With Families

Events like the Learn and Grow Fair are about more than fun activities. They create a space where schools and families meet, talk, and imagine possibilities for the future. Many parents stopped by to ask questions about our programs and our approach to learning.

Some shared their hopes of finding a school where their child could feel both motivated and supported, while others expressed excitement that a school like OCASA would soon be part of their own community. These conversations showed us how important it is to meet families where they are, in spaces that feel relaxed and welcoming.

Conclusion

The Learn and Grow Fair was a lively celebration of families, community, and opportunity, and OCASA was proud to be part of it. While our rocket activity was a simple task, it represented something much larger: the belief that learning should be hands-on, meaningful, and filled with curiosity. Meeting families, sharing our approach, and preparing for the future in Tustin made this event a special milestone for us.
